This glamorous new basement bar in The Rocks is already popular – now it’s giving you access to members-only tables. 

 

Follow the staircase, part the heavy velvet curtains and discover Alice: a stellar subterranean bar from the team behind Rockpool and Spice Temple. And it’s one of the only places in The Rocks where you can get a truly first-class experience.

 

Slink into a velvet-clad booth before perusing the cocktail list, which consists of exceptionally well-made and visually intriguing cocktails such as Lunchbox Milk Punch (a sweet, smooth and refreshing concoction of pisco, lime, Nippy’s banana iced milk and coconut milk) or the spicy Calavera (which brings together mezcal, lime, agave, pineapple, chilli and coriander). If you’re celebrating, there are also 30 bottles of champagne to pick from.

 

But it’s not just about the booze here – there’s also a selection of innovative snacks and larger dishes inspired by some of Rockpool’s signature menu items . Plus, a Sterling caviar service, which comes with crispy tater tots and crème fraîche. 

 

Our top picks from the menu are the raw kingfish with eggplant and Aleppo pepper on crackers; a beef carpaccio with parmesan, horseradish cream and capers; and thick and juicy katsu pork sandos with a hint of yuzu.

Get a table for two or four from Wednesday to Sunday at 6.30pm or 8pm.
