Chris Lucas’s lavish fine diner is one of Melbourne’s most booked-out special occasion restaurants – now it’s giving you access to members-only tables.
Alongside Grill Americano and Kisume, Society is one of the Lucas Group’s most opulent restaurants. The sense of occasion starts as soon as you get to the 80 Collins precinct and ascend through the ground floor elevators, between which “Society” is etched in big block letters. Marvel at the colossal crystal chandeliers and jet-black decor before slinking into a plush charcoal booth. The intricately made, Japanese-inspired dishes are as visually impressive as the dining room itself. And the service? It’s impeccable.
Our top picks from the menu have included the roasted duck de jour served tableside, and a fluffy soufflé topped with Manjari chocolate sorbet and drizzled with vanilla crème. Cocktails are essential; we recommend the Fallen Martini made with Tanqueray No. Ten, quince vermouth and apricot wine.
Every day of the week, Society is giving us access to tables that have previously been unbookable by the public, and for the first time have been made available through Broadsheet Access.
Get a table for two or four, every night at 6pm and 8.30pm.
You can book 30 days in advance (and a minimum of three days prior) of your desired booking date.
Check out our other tables at Chris Lucas’s Lillian Brasserie, Grill Americano, Kisumé, Chin Chin and Yakimono.
