This European-style brasserie and bar just opened, but it’s already one of the liveliest spots in Sydney’s CBD. Now it’s giving you access to members-only tables.

It doesn’t get much more opulent than a dinner at The Charles Grand Brasserie. This grand venue mirrors the ornate 1930s art deco building it’s housed in, with dramatic chandeliers, marble surfaces, and a sophisticated beige- and purple-hued dining room.

The food is just as extravagant, offering specialty brasserie-style dishes with French flair – including black opal Wagyu rump cap served tableside, crispy-skinned pressed duck, and a dessert trolley stacked with pastries, petit fours and cakes. As you’d expect, there’s a champagne and caviar service, as well as a French-leaning wine list boasting up to 600 bottles.

For added elegance, everything is carved and sauced tableside – a service you won’t find in many other restaurants.

Our top picks from the menu are the steak anchovy tartare with Conservas Angelachu anchovy and red velvet lettuce; the bite-size sweetbread and crayfish vol-au-vents with vermouth; and a comforting aged rack of lamb served with Hasselback potatoes and roasted fennel.

Every day of the week, The Charles Grand Brasserie is giving us access to tables previously unbookable for the public, now available for the first time through Broadsheet Access.

Get a table for two, any night at 6pm.

You can book 30 days in advance (and a minimum of two days ahead) of your desired booking date.

Check out our other tables at Etymon Group’s The Charles Bar and Loulou Bistro.
