This casual Middle Eastern mezze bar in Collingwood is always popular – but they’re giving you access to tables every night of the week.

 

Maha Bar is one of Melbourne’s most inventive Middle Eastern eateries, helmed by Shane Delia (the man behind Maha and its south-side wine bar Maha East). The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the cork-topped bar, a special nod to Delia’s father’s home bar. Settle in for a feast of delicious meze snacks and a superb selection of organic and biodynamic wines from across the globe.

 

Our top picks from the menu are the maple and harissa hummus topped with carrots and scooped up with pillowy, rolled up pieces of Iraqi flatbread; spiced brisket-filled burek buns; and signature 12-hour-roasted lamb shoulder dressed in smoked eggplant, Lebanese sausage and date and lamb fat jus. There’s also a playful cocktail list to choose from, including the sweet Turkish delight Martini made with rose vermouth and the signature Pomegranate sour.

 

Every day of the week, Maha Bar is giving us access to tables that have previously been unbookable by the public, and for the first time have been made available through Broadsheet Access. 

 

Get a table for two or four at 1pm and 6pm on Sunday; for four at 6pm and 8.15pm on Wednesday and Thursday; and for two at 6pm and 8.15pm from Wednesday to Saturday.

 

You can book 30 days in advance (and a minimum of two days prior) of your desired booking date.
