This year Rising festival has teamed up with ACMI to present The Vinyl Factory: Reverb, a multi-sensory exhibition that explores vinyl culture and music’s influence on art, fashion, film and society. 

 

Originally produced for 180 Studios in London, it showcases the Vinyl Factory collection (including works by Marina Abramovic, Thom Yorke and Massive Attack) plus commissions from leading cultural figures such as fashion visionary Virgil Abloh, Grammy winner Jenn Nkiru, artist Jeremy Deller and electronic music pioneer Carsten Nicolai.

 

Reverb is also an exhibition you can dance to, and it’s hosting a series of DJ sets and Listening Room sessions so punters can really get into the sonic groove. The Listening Room: Lovie – The Brooklyn DJ reps the East Coast house tradition with slow-groove disco, dusty 70s funk and sumptuous house music. 7pm, Friday May 29

 

The Listening Room: Rotational – The Rotterdam-based DJ shares his extensive collection of musical finds, from Punjabi downtempo to Angolan Kuduro. 7pm, Saturday May 30

 

The Listening Room: Nicole Skeltys – The pioneering electro-femme artist (aka Artificial or one half of B(if)Tek) brings 30 years of sound experience. 7pm, Saturday June 6
