The 40th edition of Melbourne Internation Comedy Festival has rolled into town and, to celebrate, we have a bunch of double passes (worth $70 each) to give away to some lucky Broadsheet Access members.

 

Up for grabs this week:

 

Lara Ricote (Mexico/USA) – Inkling: An hour of dark-leaning surreal oddball musings from the winner of Best Newcomer at Edinburgh Comedy Festival 2022. Inspired by one mean man and some anxious crying. Runs till April 12 at ACMI Gandel Lab.

 

Sam Jay (USA) – We The People: The Emmy-nominated writer (Saturday Night Live) and star of HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay explores how a black woman who never felt part of her country might grapple with its demise. Nominated for Best Comedy Show at Edinburgh Comedy Festival 2025. Runs till April 19 at Melbourne Town Hall Cloak Room.
