Awarded three major Cannes prizes (and currently in contention for multiple Golden Globes), The Secret Agent is the latest movie from Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho. It follows Marcelo, a father and technology expert, who’s on the run from a collapsing regime during Brazil’s 1977 Carnival. Blending grindhouse stylisation with biting social commentary, the film stars Wagner Moura (Narcos, Civil War), Udo Kier (Blood for Dracula), Maria Fernanda Cândido (The Traitor) and Gabriel Leone (Senna).
