It started as a far-fetched idea, but it finished with a one-of-a-kind copy. We’re giving one lucky Access member a copy of our brand-new Broadsheet cookbook, The New Classics, personally signed by as many of our Melbourne hospitality icons and legendary contributors as we could track down.

Melbourne’s dining scene has come a long way since the original Broadsheet Melbourne Cookbook was released in 2015. In the sequel The New Classics, we capture how far it’s evolved, with 80 new recipes from the city’s most beloved restaurants, cafes, and bars.

The book offers a rare opportunity to re-create iconic dishes in your own kitchen, like Napier Quarter’s focaccia, Lee Ho Fook’s lamb pancakes, and Toddy Shop’s fish curry – and many more that have defined Melbourne’s dining scene.

To celebrate our new cookbook’s release, we challenged ourselves to have (almost) every recipe signed by chefs, owners, and friends of the venue. There are signed features from the owner of Chae and Chef of the Year for 2025 Jung Eun Chae, Tarts Anon’s Gareth Witton, and Meatsmith’s Troy Wheeler, along with the teams from A1 Bakery, Hope Street Radio and newcomer Bistra. The roster also includes some of Melbourne’s most successful chefs and restaurateur to date, like Andrew McConnell, Nathan Toleman and many more.

Some have left personal thankyous, insider tips for their recipes, or just tongue-in-cheek comments for your eyes only.

This is a one-of-a-kind copy of the book, and it could be yours forever.
