Author and design expert Sarah Andrews has just released her new book Poetry of Spaces.  The book explores Andrews’s five foundational themes of light, life, instrument, material and sense, the inspiration behind these design pillars and impeccable examples of their use in homes across the world.

If you’re not familiar with Andrews, she’s known for her highly successful series of design masterclasses and for renovating the tranquil waterfront cabin Captains Rest, located on the west coast of Tasmania. Captains Rest was a run-down, heritage-listed coastal shack when Andrews first found it in 2016. Now, it’s a charming haven with wide antique windows overlooking the ocean, a private jetty ideal for sunset drinks, a snug and thoughtfully designed living space, and a wood fireplace that keeps the cabin warm year-round.
