Hidden between warehouses in Kensington, La Tortilleria is a quiet beacon of “real” Mexican food. From the colourful dining room, you’ll watch as the tortilla machine turns lime-soaked grains into dough, which is then pressed and cooked before landing on your plate as the perfect tortilla. Don’t pass up on the other menu items either – like quesadillas, birria, tostadas and an outstanding guac. You’ll want to take home a fresh tortilla stack too, by the half-kilo or kilo.
