See the renowned American artist and musician at the Art Gallery of NSW’s new festival, with two-for-one tickets. 

This September, the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney will launch Volume, a new festival of music, film and performance. Held across multiple spaces within both the gallery’s North and South buildings, the festival will bring together trailblazing musicians, groundbreaking filmmakers and cutting-edge performers over more than 50 events.

Access members can score two-for-one tickets to one of the festival highlights: a live performance by Lonnie Holley, the Alabama artist and musician who has been making waves since 1979. His work, born out of hardship, has manifested itself in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, performance and sound. Some of his works are permanently on display at the United Nations, while others have been exhibited at the White House. Just a few months ago, Holley released his fourth album Oh Me Oh My, an extraordinary memoir that tells a story of survival.

Also performing on the night is Maissa Alameddine Rubai, a quartet with a passion for Arabic music, with Hamed Sadeghi.
