The prestigious Biennale of Sydney is back – and Access members are invited to an exclusive, after-hours tour. Expect bubbles and a Q&A with the CEO.
Celebrating its 50th year, this year’s Biennale is packed with over 400 ambitious artworks, site-specific projects, performances and more. Titled Ten Thousand Suns, the 24th Biennale of Sydney centres on celebration, joy, queer resistance and togetherness in the face of injustice.
Running until June 10, the biannual event brings to life Sydney’s most iconic cultural institutions, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, and Artspace. This year’s Biennale also marks the first time in more than a century that the heritage-listed White Bay Power Station will be open to the public, following nearly $100 million in renovations.
At this exclusive, one-off event, Access members will experience an after hours look at the newly restored landmark, enjoying a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Following a guided tour through the artworks, you’re invited to a private Q&A with Biennale of Sydney’s CEO Barbara Moore. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy time to mingle at the bar and explore more of the space.
