World-renowned artist Julie Mehretu is the subject of a major new exhibition. To celebrate the opening, we’re giving away free tickets to Access members. First in, best dressed.

 

Widely regarded as one of the best painters of her generation, Julie Mehretu is known for her monumental, multi-layered artworks. Exclusive to Sydney, a major retrospective of Mehretu’s work is showing at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, and we’re giving away free tickets to Access members.

 

Depicting abstract urban landscapes, Mehretu’s work draws on history and architecture and speaks to urgent socio-political issues of revolution, capitalism and the climate. Julie Mehretu: A Transcore of the Radical Imaginatory is the first exhibition dedicated to her work in Australia. 

 

Showcasing new and recent artworks, the exhibition includes both monumental and medium format paintings, as well as a selection of her works on paper from the last two decades.
