Adapted from Isabel Wilkerson’s bestselling non-fiction book Caste, Origin is a gripping new film that looks at social hierarchies and the destruction they cause. The film is told from the perspective of Wilkerson herself (played by King Richard’s Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor) as she writes Caste. She travels through Germany, India and the United States to research the caste systems in each country’s history, uncovering grappling truths along the way.
