A riotous retelling of Charles Dickens’s classic tale is coming to Melbourne – and we’ve got seven double passes up for grabs to opening night. First in, best dressed.
Inspired by its writers own backgrounds, A Very Jewish Christmas Carol is an Australian family comedy-drama based on Charles Dickens’ timeless novella. It follows local baker Ely, who’s determined to fulfill customer demand for her Bubi’s famous Polish gingerbread. She’s not letting anything get in her way – be it Christmukkah, the imminent birth of her child and definitely not the ghosts who have shown up in her kitchen. But the reindeer of Christmukkah Past, Gingerbread Golemn and Lilith Claus have other ideas.
Presented by Melbourne Theatre Company from November 14 to December 16, A Very Jewish Christmas Carol is a wild and laugh-out-loud journey through the most festive time of year.
