It’s been a while since we’ve seen a found-footage horror film (think The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity) but Late Night With the Devil has reminded us how terrifying the genre can be.
The film takes place in 1977 and tracks a day in the life of Jack Delroy, the host of a once hugely popular syndicated talk show. A year on from the tragic death of Delroy’s wife, ratings have plummeted and sponsors are getting nervous. Desperate to turn things around, he pulls out all the stops for his annual Halloween special, booking a psychic, a professional skeptic, a parapsychologist and a young girl allegedly possessed by the devil. Unsurprisingly, things turn sinister quickly.
