Missed out on our private viewing of the AGNSW’s new blockbuster exhibition? We’ve got plenty of free double passes to the exhibition up for grabs. First in, best dressed.
A pioneer of the abstract expressionism movement in Europe, Vasily Kandinsky (also known as Wassily Kandinsky) was one of the world’s most groundbreaking and best-loved modernist artists. In his influential 1911 treatise, he wrote about art’s potential to “stand alone”, with imagery independent of the natural world. These musings on the artist’s “inner necessity” would underscore his entire career.
The AGNSW’s remarkable upcoming exhibition Kandinsky, curated with New York’s Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, draws from the Guggenheim’s rich holdings to showcase Kandinsky’s life and work – from the beginnings of his artistic career in Munich, to his return to his birthplace of Moscow with the outbreak of World War I, to his final chapter in Paris.
Access has more than 150 tickets up for grabs to see the exhibition over summer. First in, best dressed.
Tickets drop at 4pm Thursday 23 November.
