Everybody’s favourite cheese shop at Prahran Market is hosting an epic toastie series with guest chef collaborators – and it’s giving away 50 toasties, exclusive to members.

 

Maker and Monger’s founder and cheesemonger Anthony Femia coined it the “chapel of cheese”, serving boutique international cheeses from a permanent Prahran Market stall. To mark its eighth anniversary in a suitably gooey way, the shop will be serving a different toastie by one of Melbourne’s most talented chefs every weekend for five weeks through August and September.

 

Called Friends of Fromage, the series includes creations by Shannon Martinez (Smith & Daughters), Dave Verheul (Embla), Tom Sarafian (ex-Bar Saracen) and Diana Chan (winner of Masterchef). Every toastie comes with a custom retro-inspired collector card with a quirky photo of each participating chef.

 

Kicking off Friends of Fromage is none other than Femia himself, who will be making "The Mac Attack" on August 5 and 6.
