The MCA is hosting a private viewing of works by some of the country’s most impressive young artists, and we’ve got 10 tickets up for grabs. But hurry – first in, best dressed.

 

Primavera is one of the MCA’s most significant exhibitions. Each year, the gallery brings together exciting new works by emerging artists living and working in Australia. It has launched the careers of many artists and curators, who have gone on to exhibit nationally and internationally.

 

This year, in its 31st edition, Primavera showcases works thematically bound by the pandemic experience and a sense of social upheaval, loss and suffering. More than that, they propose ways to navigate these global challenges.

 

Curated by Michael Do – contemporary art curator at the Sydney Opera House and projects curator at Aotearoa Art Fair – the exhibition will span mediums including poetry, choreography, scent, weaving, moving image and installation.

 

We’ve got 10 tickets up for grabs to a private, after-hours viewing on Tuesday January 31. With a glass of bubbles in hand, you’ll hear from Do and the featured artists before exploring the exhibition away from the crowds.
