Six years ago, Elli and Cam Walsh opened their first Winona wine store in Manly. Since then, the couple has expanded to Avalon Beach and – soon – a brand-new outlet in Rozelle. Named for Johnny Depp’s botched “Winona Forever” (since changed to “Wino Forever”), the mini-chain specialises in small-scale and minimum-intervention natural wine producers working with organic, biodynamic or sustainable practices. Alongside all those bottles of funky natural wine, Winona also slings beer, spirits and non-alc drinks (everything you’d expect from a regular bottle shop), plus a schmick line of curated merch and giftware, including cult Tinned Fish candles and Maison Balzac glassware.

Access members will get the store to themselves from 5pm to 7pm, plus a 10 per cent discount storewide on the night (in case you want to get a jump on your Christmas gift-shopping).
