Giovanni Pilu and Marilyn Annecchini – the hospo couple behind Manly fine diner Pilu at Freshwater – are set to bring their Med-inspired eats to Circular Quay as they lead the food offering at new venue Flaminia.

Named for the boat Annecchini’s grandma arrived on in Sydney, 1959 (in sight of the new restaurant’s harbourside location) Flaminia promises to be a celebration of Italy, its coastline and its connection to Australia.

 

The menu will offer a taste of five Italian port cities channelled through local produce at luxe hotel Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour. And, of course, Readers’ Preview attendees can hear all about the new dishes (and old inspirations) from Pilu himself, in conversation with Broadsheet Sydney food and drink editor Grace MacKenzie.
