The Big Design Market is landing at Carriageworks from September 19 to 21 to showcase more than 230 independent designers, and Broadsheet Access members can win free double entry for a day of their choosing. 

Among the immense displays from Australian designers, there’ll be 56 new exhibitors, food and drink stalls and a large-scale art installation by this year’s guest artist – and florist, forager, painter, illustrator and textile designer – Emma Morgan. You can browse ceramics, jewellery, homewares, clothing, lifestyle products, pet wares, stationary and more, all under one roof. For food, you can expect an appearance from well-loved Melbourne and Sydney eateries like Wonder Pies, Brooklyn Boy Bagels, Bar Pho and Billy Van Creamy. And there’ll be ample drinks on offer, with stalls from Pizzini Wines, Sakemate and Azteca Margarita.

There are lots of perks, too. Visitors who arrive between 4pm and 6pm on Friday September 19 will enjoy a free drink from Pizzini. Also on Friday, you can nab a limited-edition show bag, packed with $155 worth of designer goods, for just $25. To top it off, there’s a $1400 visitor prize up for grabs. The waitlist opens Thursday, September 11 and will close Monday, September 15 2025.
