Shane Delia’s Middle Eastern dining institution is bringing back 15 of its biggest culinary hits from the past 15 years for a one-off anniversary event – and Access members have first dibs on tickets. 

It’s been 15 years since top chef Shane Delia opened the doors to his flagship Melbourne restaurant, Maha. And there’s plenty to celebrate: the restaurant has remained one of the city’s best restaurants the entire time, acclaimed for its pioneering and innovative approach to Middle Eastern cuisine.

To mark the anniversary, Delia is bringing back 15 of his best dishes – one for each year of Maha – for a special menu available throughout June and July. But you’ll want to experience it at a one-off birthday celebration event at Maha East on June 7. Delia will be in attendance, sitting down for a chat with a Broadsheet editor.

Expect a four-course sharing menu featuring smoked hummus with pine mushrooms and malawach (flaky Yemenite flatbread); crispy spiced lamb and almond cigars dusted with cinnamon sugar; 12-hour roasted lamb shoulder doused in za’atar and pine nut jus; and a side of herbed basmati rice and toasted noodles. For dessert, there’s a leatherwood honey parfait, Maha’s signature Turkish delight doughnuts, and a dark chocolate and pomegranate molasses tart.
