Be the first to try the new bar and bistro from one of Melbourne’s most respected hospitality groups. Expect a one-off chefs menu and a Q&A with Nathan Toleman.

Just weeks after announcing two upcoming venues with Tom Sarafian, Nathan Toleman’s Mulberry Group (Lilac Wine, Hazel) has announced its new bar and bistro Molli. Molli and sibling deli and cafe Little Molli will be housed in the Bauhaus–inspired Craftworks office building, located on a leafy street corner in Abbotsford. Hazel’s head chef Aleksis Kalnins will be heading up the kitchen at both venues, serving up small plates and large plates like pork neck skewers using the Josper oven. There’ll be a rooftop garden from which many ingredients will be sourced; all other ingredients will come from the team’s regenerative Freshwater Creek farm Common Ground Project. A refined menu of seasonal cocktails will also rotate regularly and feature house-made ferments.

You’ll be one of the first to experience Molli when it opens exclusively to Access members for an Editors’ Preview night on July 2 .

Start with a wintry cocktail before sitting down for a one-off, eight-plate chefs menu, including pillowy flatbread with shallot custard; the aforementioned pork neck skewers; wagyu rump cap topped with peperiade and a comforting sticky date pudding. Additional drinks can be purchased on the night.

On the night, a Broadsheet editor will host a Q&A with owner Nathan Toleman to hear about how Molli came to life.

There are limited spots, so be quick to reserve yours via the link below. Tickets are $95 per person.
