Be the first to try a new cafe from one of Melbourne’s most respected hospitality groups. At this one-off event, enjoy a 10 course tasting menu and a Q&A with the founder. 

 

Sitting at the base of the Rialto Tower, Square One is the latest venture from Nathan Toleman of the Mulberry Group. The new venue is the flagship offering for Square One Coffee Roasters –  the Cremorne roastery founded by Toleman – and joins a suite of iconic brunch spots by the pioneering operator, including Top Paddock and Higher Ground. 

 

Toleman has tapped into some serious chef talent from Australia and abroad to help connect the city to the Mulberry Group’s regenerative community farm in Freshwater Creek. The Common Ground Project, located just an hour outside of Geelong, provides training and career pathways to people facing disadvantage. Every season, 10 different chefs will each contribute a menu item highlighting ingredients from Common Ground Project. The debut menu features contributions from chefs including Victor Liong (Lee Ho Fook), Nagesh Seethiah (Manze), hummus hero Tom Sarafian, Jemma Whiteman (Sydney’s Ante) and Nuno Mendes from London’s Lisboeta.

 

You’ll be one of the first to experience Square One when it opens exclusively to Access members for an Editors’ Preview breakfast on Saturday 2nd September.
