Sydney is getting a fun new Euro summer style bistro and wine bar – and Broadsheet Access members can experience it before it opens to the public. 

 

Four hospo talents have moved into the former The Sunshine Inn space to launch new restaurant Attenzione! Food & Wine which opens early August. There’s Felix Colman, part-owner and operator of Ragazzi and Fabbrica; former Yellow manager Toby Davis; former Lola’s head chef Toby Stansfield; and Dexter Kim, freelance videographer and photographer who’s also spent time on the Ragazzi pans.  

 

The menu at Attenzione! Food & Wine leans Euro, with “Italian-ish” plates that are perfect for a night with pals, a date, the family or solo. Both the service and design at Attenzione! is warm and welcoming, with vibes that always ensure very good times.

 

For the Access dinner, the five-course menu will offer snacks, small plates, a pasta course, main course with sides, and dessert. Dishes include a snack of local smoked trout pate with grilled plum and chicken skin, wildflower butter and bread, thick strands of pici sauced up with scallion crema, slow roasted beef rump cap with sauce Diane and served with a side of café de Paris buttered chard, and an apple baked in spelt pastry with tonka custard for dessert. On the drinks front, expect a complimentary Attenzione! Spritz on arrival and a globe-spanning wine list big on interesting drops to guide your evening. 

 

Between courses expect a casual Q&A with Stansfield and Broadsheet Sydney food and drink editor Grace MacKenzie. 

 

You’ll be one of the first to experience Attenzione! Food & Wine when it opens exclusively to Access members for an Editors’ Preview night on July 31.
