Film-lovers, rejoice: Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) is returning this August with a stacked line-up of new international and local flicks. Over 18 days, experience world premieres, headline-grabbing international features, guest appearances and more.

 

To celebrate, Access and MIFF are teaming up to bring you a one-off private screening of one of the festival’s most anticipated features, Showing Up, at The Forum.

 

The captivating comedy-drama film, which premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and competed for the prestigious Palme d’Or, is the fourth collaboration between director Kelly Reichardt and actress Michelle Williams. It follows a sculptor who, preparing to open a new show, must balance her creative life and chaotic personal life.

 

Our exclusive event kicks off at the Campari Cinema Club (located within ACMI) for an hour of free Campari sodas. You’ll then head over to The Forum to watch the film at our members-only screening, with a special Q&A between MIFF's program director Kate Jinx and Broadsheet's national editor Michael Harry beforehand. At the end, there’ll be chances to chat to Broadsheet editors and the MIFF team about the film.
