Melbourne CBD is about to get a spicy new addition – and you can be among the first to taste what’s on offer.

Our Editor’s Preview dinners are all about bringing diners to new venues. Juni, our next dinner destination, welcomes esteemed English chef Michael Lambie back to Melbourne.

After a three-year hiatus, Lambie is opening Juni (named after his late mother) in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. The menu (inspired by the flavours of Southeast Asia) is all about “fire and spice”, with head chef Hendri Budiman (Coda), offering a line-up of bold and aromatic shared dishes that hero the clean flavours of Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

You’ll start your evening with a complimentary drink before you take a seat at the table for a menu of five signature plates. Expect to sample dishes like a Wagyu steak tartare, Port Arlington Hibachi mussels with XO butter, a sticky pork belly with nam jim, and pan fried Atlantic salmon with nam prik & crispy school prawns.

Lambie will also be in conversation with a Broadsheet's own Australia editor, Nick Connellan on the night for an insightful conversation, boosted by banter.

Help us toast Lambie’s return at what’s likely to become another favourite from the restaurateur.
