Join us for an after-hours look at the gallery’s world-first exhibition celebrating iconic women in film, including a Q&A between Broadsheet’s editorial director and an ACMI curator. Afterwards, continue the celebrations at a members-only dinner with hospitality powerhouses Karen Martini and Philippa Sibley.
ACMI’s new Goddess: Power, Glamour, Rebellion Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition celebrates strong, formidable and iconic women in film. Be dazzled by 150 objects, artworks, props and sketches, including never-before-seen costumes from films such as Thelma & Louise and Crouching Tiger. Expect a showcase of the characters, actors, films and moments from history that have defined and challenged portrayals of femininity, alongside an exploration of changes happening in the world behind the scenes.
To celebrate, we’re hosting an evening of art, food and drinks – completely themed around Goddess.
Start in the gallery’s foyer for an in conversation with Broadsheet editorial director Katya Wachtel and ACMI curator Julia Murphy, before exploring all the wonders of Goddess at your own pace (and away from the crowds).
You’ll then be guided to ACMI’s restaurant Hero for a one-off, four-course dinner by celebrity chef Karen Martini and dessert chef Philippa Sibley. Martini will be there on the night to talk about her path to becoming one of Australia’s most successful female chefs, including embodying her own ‘hero’, defying expectations and all of her groundbreaking achievements.
Tickets are very limited, so don’t miss out. Secure your spot via the link below.
Exhibition preview tickets (not including the dinner at ACMI) are also available for $45 – select ‘general admission’ at checkout.
