Traverse time and celestial worlds with a private, members-only tour of Rising 2023’s highlight exhibition, introduced by curator Kimberley Moulton.

Rising is Melbourne’s annual winter festival, bringing together dance, music, theatre, cinema, sculpture, large-scale installations and mass-participation events – but with a fun and subversive spirit. 

As part of Rising 2023, the derelict upper level of Flinders Street Station has been transformed for Shadow Spirit. The groundbreaking exhibition features 30 First Peoples artists and collectives, curated by Yorta Yorta woman Kimberley Moulton and presented by Metro Trans Melbourne. It serves as the festival’s physical and spiritual centre, using theatre, music, visual art and food to explore Ancestral spirit worlds and knowledge systems across 15 major works.

Shadow Spirit will be one of the busiest, most in-demand exhibitions at Rising, but you can escape the crowds with a private tour – exclusive to Access members. Start with a glass of champagne and hear from Moulton, before roaming the exhibition.
