Experience an exclusive evening with Rising Festival and a secret session with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

 

Start with a glass of bubbles at The Howey in Night Trade, Rising’s haunt for festival buzz and good times. Take your time and wander through Night Trade Made Easy, located under the Capitol Theatre and connected to Howey Place – the original home of Melbourne's most eccentric book shop and the city’s first queer club – which honours the bohemian spirit that lives under the theatre’s crystalline cave.

 
Then from 8pm, enter the Night Trade stage door for a Secret Symphony show. Secret Symphony is an event that’s been showcasing the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in unexpected locations across Melbourne since 2015. 

 

Now it’s sneaking its way into Rising. It’s a bit like a treasure hunt for classical music lovers. You follow its Instagram and see if you can guess the location and repertoire based on clues it drops in the weeks leading up to the performance. Then, on Thursday June 6, the hunt is on.

 

Make like a treble clef and wind through the grid, searching for classical clues. There’ll be drinks and DJs too.
