Alejandro Saravia closed his Latin American restaurant Morena in September, but it’s not goodbye. The chef (also behind Farmer’s Daughters and Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters in Fed Square) is flipping the former space into a Wine House, under the Farmer’s Daughters umbrella. On October 24, sommelier Stephen Amman will open the Farmer’s Daughters cellar, 95 per cent of which is Victorian, for a tasting experience. There’ll be a snacky menu to accompany each pour, including terrine with preserved figs; oysters; cheeses; crudo; and one surprise dish that Saravia swears by. Members will hear first-hand tales from the winemakers and Saravia, and have the opportunity to purchase featured wines at cellar-door prices.
