The southern hemisphere’s biggest and longest-running design and creativity festival returns this year, and you can save 20 per cent on tickets. 

From May 31 to June 2, Semi Permanent will return to Carriageworks as part of Vivid Sydney 2023. Semi Permanent brings together creative industries from the Asia-Pacific region for three days of workshops, exhibitions, keynote talks, installations and more.

Reflecting on the last three years of transformation, the theme for this year’s Semi Permanent festival is “Reformation”. Expect talks on timely subjects and current issues such as First Nations culture, accessibility, feminism, sustainability, futurism, inclusion and more from a design perspective. Included on the bill are Irish writer, academic and disability activist Sinéad Burke, who works with clients like Gucci, Netflix and Ralph Lauren on accessibility improvements; film director and architect Liam Young, who’ll chat about design fiction and critical design; Vogue India head of editorial Megha Kapoor; Sydney-based designer and artist Evi O; and many others.
