This Catalan-inspired eatery from the Franca Brasserie team is always popular. Now it’s giving you access to members-only tables.
Bringing cuisine from Spain’s north-east to the heart of Sydney, Parlar – which means “to chatter” – serves up dishes inspired by the Catalonian coastline. The space’s velvety chairs and golden-hued marble tables make for an introduction as inviting as it is impressive.
Championing local and seasonal produce, the menu is primarily based on tapas and share plates. There’s also a larger seafood platter for two, which features a Spanish omelette with spanner crab and salmon roe, and a whole lobster with smoked samfaina (Catalonia’s answer to ratatouille).
Our top picks include the grilled baby octopus topped with smoked almond salsa; black rice with king prawns, spanner crab and loligo squid; and the crema catalana (similar to crème brûlée) with caramelised white chocolate.

Get a table for two, from Thursday to Sunday at 5.30pm, 6pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8pm or 8.30pm.
You can book 30 days in advance (and a minimum of two days prior) of your desired booking date.
