The fire-powered Mediterranean restaurant is always popular – but now it’s giving you access to members-only tables every night.

 

From the moment you step inside NOMAD Sydney’s warm dining room, you’ll be able to see the chefs busy at work in the open kitchen. Smoke and flames are at the heart of this Surry Hills restaurant, which plates up soulful dishes brimming with Spanish, Moroccan and Middle Eastern flavours using an impressive charcoal grill and woodfire oven.

 

Every aspect of NOMAD champions small, sustainable Australian growers, from a food menu of hearty dishes such as whole lamb shoulder topped with sweet and sour currants to an extensive wine list comprising bold drops from local producers.

 

Our top picks from the menu are the signature puffy woodfired flatbread covered in Persian lime and wattleseed za’atar; the raw hiramasa kingfish with avocado, finger lime and coriander crackers; and the olive oil ice-cream sandwich with halva, pistachio and honey drizzle.
