Even after 10 years, this is still one of Sydney’s most popular restaurants – now it’s giving you access to members-only tables. 

 

Matt Moran’s Chiswick has a relaxed English garden party atmosphere that makes it one of the most timeless eateries in the city. It’s a hybrid of old and new; a country garden merged seamlessly with a picturesque pavilion. Inside, you’ll find communal tables adorned with soft napkins; retro pieces of furniture and decor; and an extensive kitchen garden that forms a picturesque backdrop right outside the windows.

 

The food changes depending on what’s growing in the garden (each dish celebrates some aspect of the veggie patch), but the atmosphere is always the same: buzzing with chatter, celebrations and conviviality.

 

Our top picks from the menu are the wood-baked haloumi with fennel and a sprinkle of herbs from the garden; crispy zucchini flower with date and tahini; and the signature slow-roasted lamb shoulder lathered with mint sauce, which uses lamb sourced from the Moran family farm in the Central Tablelands.

Get a table for two or four from Sunday to Thursday at 7pm, or for two on Saturday at 6pm.
